- Picking Grapes
- Picking raisin grapes...these short videos will give you an idea about how long it takes to pick 1 paper tray full of grapes  - from cutting the bunches off the vine, to placing the grapes on a paper tray for drying.  Each tray should hold about 20 pounds of green grapes that will dry down to about 5 pounds of raisins.

- Picking....continued
- An experienced operator can pick between 300 and 400 quality trays in a 6 to 7 hour period.  Since we are picking grapes at the end of August and the temperatures are soaring, we always finish the day's harvest operations shortly after noon.

- Another round begins...
- Picking grapes is some of the hardest work on the ranch....and some of the most labor intensive.   More and more large farming operations are going to mechanical means of harvest whenever possible, and the raisin industry is no exception.  However, there are many old vineyards around (our vines are from 20 to 7 0years old) that were designed to be hand harvested and are not adaptable to machine work.
